A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME...

Training frontline NSPCC staff about the risks of radicalisation

David Chadwick

Providing a counter-narrative through education and training

Dave Chadwick has spent much of his career working in counter-terrorism. Through that work, he’s seen up close how radicalisation and serious violence can change lives forever, and the real impact it has on young people, families, and communities.

As part of multi-agency Channel Panel, Dave worked directly with people who were vulnerable to radicalisation. This included one-to-one mentoring as part of the government’s de-radicalisation work, supporting individuals at a point where the right help could genuinely make a difference.

Because of this hands-on experience, Dave understands how people get drawn into harmful ideologies, and more importantly, what the early warning signs look like. He’s particularly experienced in helping schools and colleges spot concerns early, before things escalate.

Dave is a down-to-earth speaker who’s passionate about stopping young people being exploited by others. He delivers talks and assemblies across the UK, working with everyone from primary school pupils to university students. He also trains frontline staff and leaders, helping them feel confident about what to look for and what to do next.

As a member of the Professional Speakers Association, Dave supports education settings to meet the Prevent Duty in a way that actually makes sense. That includes risk assessments, staff training, workshops, and student sessions. All focused on building resilience, confidence, and better outcomes for young people.

Dave is also a proud patron of Lifeworks, a Staffordshire-based charity supporting individuals with Autism, ADHD and Tourette’s syndrome. Lifeworks offers vital support not only to those with these conditions, but also to the families and carers who support them.

The charity also delivers specialist training for businesses, groups and organisations seeking to improve their understanding of Autism, ADHD and Tourette’s syndrome.
